Application
Preparation of New Steel:
To begin with, remove oil and grease etc. thoroughly with a suitable detergent. Secondly, remove salts and other contaminants by high-pressure fresh water cleaning. Additionally, abrasive blasting to the cleaning degree specified for the final coating system, usually Sa 2½ (ISO 8501-1:2007). Finally, apply immediately after cleaning.
Preparation For Repair and Maintenance:
Initially, remove oil and grease etc. thoroughly with a suitable detergent. Secondly, remove salts and other contaminants by high-pressure fresh water cleaning. Following this, remove all rust and lose material by abrasive blasting or power tool cleaning. Afterwards, dust off residues. Last but not the least, touch up bare spots to full film thickness.
Apply only on a dry and clean surface with a temperature above the dew point to avoid condensation.
